Is this mentality hurting us? I understand that we all like to see the quick hitter deep balls. Although I dont think our offense is set up for that kind of play currently. Seems to me like Worley is being set up for failure. If you look I think we have him pressing to make the big play. This past week it was very obvious. Its almost like our OC and HC are wanting Worley to do more than he is capable of. He had numerous times where we had short throws open that would have kept drives open and he was throwing 10-15 yards down the field and outta bounds. I think that Worley can be servicable. Although it appears we will need to keep throwing it short and taking what the defense will give us.

Well, I can see your argument but he has worm burned enough short passes to indicate a bigger problem. Some people say its bad receiver routes and others claim it is his periodic throwing off the back foot. I'm sure reality is somewhere in-between (meaning both happen more than it should).

And I have seen that as well. Although his worst passes seem to be 15+ yard throws.

I know CBJ wants more explosiveness from the offense. Kinda reminded me of the days in recent years where we would just run the ball all game long vs inferior opponents just to try and force it to happen. We might squak out 100 yards on 30 carries, but they stuck with it. Personally, they need to let Worley do what he can and NOT force things down the field.

There are numerous times Worley throws the ball in the dirt or over the heads of the receivers or to the other team on 5-8 yard passes too.

At least when it's further downfield, it's more like a punt.

What an atrocious thing to say! Funny though, very funny!

I also see him hitting receivers in the numbers and they can't catch the ball. Not all fault is on Worley.

We got spoiled by the last few years, honestly. Watching the Jim Chaney Show starring an NFL QB, an NFL TE, and several NFL WRs really set us up for higher expectations in my opinion. Even with our defensive struggles last year, we never struggled to move the chains, and our offense was a consistent big-play machine.

Unfortunately, the defense was also a big-play machine, for whoever we were playing.

I'm as full Butch as it gets, but I hope everyone enjoyed watching us put 44 points up on Georgia because it's going to be a while before it happens again.

Both should be fixed in practice. If it's a timing issue he has to get with Pig, Johnson, Smith and Croom as much as possible to fix it. Repetition Repetition Repetition!! Each receiver is a little different. It is ridiculous that we are six weeks in now and we are still completely inept at throwing the football.
