Okay I don't have a link, but if you go to the Preds message board Basilie was turned down by the NHL. Also Leopold wants his team back. Leopold said there was no post sale agreement, and that Basilie was intent on moving the team to Hamilton, Canada. Well its all back in Leopolds hands now.(This is big news for me since I'm a Pred fan.):)

Now we gotta watch our backs from them KC folks.

Thats not going to happen either because the guy who was thinking about buying the Preds and moving to KC turned the sale offer down. He supposedly said he didn't want anything to do with it anymore. All this coming from the Preds message boards.

Whoa, Not so fast my friends
from the teams official site:

News - Leipold issues statement - Nashville Predators

Leipold issues statement
Predators Press ReleaseJune 22, 2007

Nashville Predators Owner Craig Leipold issued the following statement Friday:
“We did send the NHL a letter today requesting that it not do any further due diligence on Jim Balsillie’s offer for the Nashville Predators until we reach a binding agreement. If Jim is interested in reaching a binding agreement, we are prepared to move forward.”

Basically Leopold wants to discontinue everything until a binding agreement is reached with Balsilie. He wants the paperwork done, and he wants to collect his large sum of money.

I have a feeling Balsilie is backing out, I don't believe the NHL will allow him to move the team. Just my gut feeling. The good thing for Nashville is that apparently a local group has now expressed interest, should the team not be sold to Balsilie

Firts of all it has nothing to do with Ballsilie or Leopold. The fans must got to the games.....14,000 is the magic number, and they better get about 15,000 just to be sure.

But seeing how they just traded their Franchise player, i say the Preds are done here guys. Lets see what else Nashvillians can flush down the toilet.

They are letting the Preds get away, Starwood went belly up, they turn Opryland into a mall, the Sounds are close to being moved. What a joke.

That's what they get for making room for all of Pacman's entourage.

I wouldn't worry too much about Vokoun. He was not the same guy last year...and Mason is solid. Losing Hartnell is what bothers me.

like Nashville fans are that worried about losing the Predators bandwagon.
Any Nashville resident with half a brain SHOULD be worried whether they are a hockey fan or not. Having that team play 40+ home games a year brings a ton of revenue downtown. There are many nights that there is nothing going on but a preds game and the local bars and eateries are packed before and after the games with predators spectators. Losing that team would be a major blow to many downtown establishments.

The biggest problem the team has is that BUSINESSES aren't supporting the team, the fans have been great...let me explain:

For most all NHL teams, 60% of season tickets are purchased by business entities either in luxury suites or the general seating area, and 40% of the tickets are bought by individuals. In Nashville, that is reversed, with 60% bought by individuals, 40% by businesses. The team is close to the 14,000 mark, and if enough businesses got tickets to make it 60% business, then they would be over 14,000 tickets.

I think everybody needs to buy more tickets though, just to make sure they stay:thumbsup:

It's huge for us because we are finally able to get some good in-state talent with UT hockey because of the development of the high school programs, and the Preds are the main governing body behind TN High School Hockey since the TSSAA doesn't sanction hockey...yet.

Starwood was the most god forsaken place to get in or out of. it's no wonder that place went under.
