First: Minnesota spends 14 of their 16 remaining seconds on the one-yard line doing this.

And then Minnesota goes for it instead of trying for overtime (which I wholeheartedly approve of every time):

This and Miami-Duke happened within 15 minutes of each other, reinforcing college football as a national treasure.

With 19 seconds left you have to get 3 plays off if you're going for the W. I thought they were taking 1 shot at it the kick the fg with 2 seconds. Got to run a 3rd play there in case you don't make it.

Duke almost did the same thing. They tried to spike it but a Miami player was hurt and the refs stopped play. But after the ball was set the clock ran and Duke apparently didn't realize the clock was running and let several seconds tick off before doing the sneak (which I'm not sure he actually scored).

It wasn't as bad as Minnesota though. I have no idea what those idiots were doing.

Horrible clock management. If you're going for the win you can't screw around and waste time like that.

Have no problem with them going for the win, however letting 12 seconds run off the clock before the first down play is inexcusable.
