Lou Dobbs: Independent Will Win in Nov. - Newsmax.com

CNN’s Lou Dobbs says Americans are in for a “November surprise” next year – voters will elect as president an independent candidate who has not yet entered the race.
The host of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” writes in an online commentary: “One year from now, we will have elected a new president. As eager as I am for that reality, I can’t imagine any one of the current candidates for their party’s nomination being chosen by the American people to lead this nation for the next four years.
“I believe the person elected a year from now will be an independent populist, a man or woman who understands the genius of this country lies in the hearts and minds of its people and not in the prerogatives and power of its elites.”
Dobbs, whose new book is “Independents Day: Awakening the American Spirit,” goes on to say: “I believe that independent Americans will demand a far better choice than any of the candidates now seeking their party’s nomination. I believe next November’s surprise will be the election of a man or woman of great character, vision and accomplishment, a candidate who has not yet entered the race.”
Interestingly, one independent who has been mentioned as a possible presidential candidate is Dobbs himself. A Web site, Lou Dobbs for President, has been spearheading a move to draft the veteran newsman as a presidential candidate in 2008.
The site showed for a time the front page of Newsmax Magazine’s March issue, which featured a cover story about Dobbs, along with this quote from Newsmax’s exclusive interview with the journalist who is on a self-proclaimed crusade to protect America’s borders and jobs:
“I think something on the order of an independent movement will come if these two parties fail the American people again.”
One prominent figure who has been mentioned as a potential independent candidate is New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He has repeatedly said he does not intend to enter the race, but as Newsmax reported earlier, he is still said to be seriously considering a bids.
Bloomberg has already changed his party affiliation from Republican to independent. And as recently as Oct. 24, two-time presidential candidate Steve Forbes predicted that former vice president Al Gore will endorse Bloomberg for an independent White House bid – and Bloomberg will return the favor by naming Gore his running mate.

Thoughts?

I think I'd rather see a Hillary/Obama ticket win than a Bloomberg/Gore ticket.

I'm good with it. I like undiversified fantasy teams. In fact, I welcome you into a couple of leagues I'm in. We'll have to vote, but I'm sure everyone would be open to it.

I only have the internet at work and we have a blocking system.

I wouldn't be able to do it.

Besides, it depends on how the league is set up to how I pick my team.

My colts team was a free yahoo league.
