Lou Holtz is a documented idiot.

He is biased.
His last 3 seasons at ND from '94-'96, Tennessee and ND went head to head for several recruits with Tennessee winning pretty much every one. Peyton Manning, Al Wilson, Chad Clifton and Peerless Price ... for some reason, Lou thought he was entitled to players from west Tennessee.

.... and then later on, Lou was 0-6 vs Tennessee at South Carolina. Once again, whenever we went head-to-head for recruits, Tennessee usually won out. Most notably Albert Haynesworth from South Carolina in '99. We got a lot of good players from the Palmetto state in the late 90's.

. Yep he’s still pissed that Fulmer absolutely owned him from 1999-2004 he played us tough a couple of times but never beat us. I give him credit for turning around South Carolina post Brad Scott they were absolutely horrible going 0-11 one season I think Lou’s first season there. He got them to two New Year’s Day bowl games in 2000 and 2001 beating Ohio St. both times in the Outback bowl. Pretty amazing that South Carolina had two legacy coaches coach there back to back in Holtz and Spurrier

Your right we used to clean up the Carolina’s in the late 90’s plucked alot of talent out of South Carolina and North Carolina and we were cherry picking Georgia too getting alot of their best talent. Fulmer in his recruiting prime then was a beast.
