Something tells me this isn't a very good idea unless there's a firesale...

But, we'll see how it goes.

Lou is a great manger if there is already alot of talent in place. That's not the case in Chicago. The pitching staff spends more time on the DL than it does on the mound. I don't see him or anyone else turning around the Cubs anytime soon.

Wow, you would have thought his time in Tampa would have taught him a lesson about trying to manage an expansion team.

bad move. has only reached the postseason just twice in like 17 years, I guess cubs are used to that kinda thing tho

Lou may be the only manager out there who can talk the Tribune into spending some of that dough for a decent team.

Oh that is low. The Cubs have made a living off of losing. No time to take cheap shots now Hat.

This is a bad decision imo. I love the cubs and hoped they would take Girardi but after losing 96 straight years i guess they know something about it.

I don't know how I feel about this one. Sweet Lou could light a fire under the team and maybe press the Tribe to spend some money, but, if not, it'll be the same ole' same ole' for the boys in blue.

Personally, I really wanted Joe Girardi.

this hiring means nothing if the Cubs don't get 2 starters and a power hitting left fielder.

I know... As far as I know, the Tribune is one of only about five team owners in the MLB willing to break that $100 million mark for a payroll. Maybe Lou could handpick the team or something. Wood and Prior need to go.
