Louisville and Pitino sanctioned by the NCAA

UNC has done much worse but they get a free pass? Rick Pitino isn't innocent by all means but he should be pissed about how rigged the NCAA is when it comes to these situations. They have to protect big programs like UNC, Kansas, UK, Duke so of course they're not going to get into any type of trouble.

University was given a pass by the NCAA. The only people in trouble are Petino, an assistant, and administrator. Louisville was not charged with lack of institutional control.

Louisville hires some men of impressive moral integrity don't they - Petrino (twice) and Pitino?

The silence from the NCAA on the UNC situation is absolute deafening.

If some middling program did what UNC has done, the basketball program would have been effectively shut down 2 years ago.

Ok , so what happens now? He is sanctioned, can he coach, recruit off campus etc?

Or is it a "don't do that again" penalty.

Probably suspended to start the season and comes back for the UK game to lose again to Cal.

Not buying the big program thing, Louisville is a legit "big time" hoops program. The UNC crap is ridiculous.

Jeff Goodman said on ESPN, that there would be no serious penalties if I heard right ( had volume low...baby sleeping).

Since when is failure to monitor not a serious penalty?

Also how can they say he failed to monitor, but not the university or athletic director?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bruce has a BBQ and gets caught up in the lies that followed. Forced outta town.

Rick oversees a program that was hosting hookers and giving out sexual favors to recruits/players. Probably not gonna face anything serious. UL probably saved some punishment by sanctioning themselves during what was going to be a down year anyway. But the fact UL can do something so sick and dirty and probably get with minimal issue is crazy. And from the rumors I've heard many of the 2013 "good boys" were the worst of them. How in the world are players not ineligible when they were repeatedly "receiving benefits" via these hookers??? Others players in the country have been ruled out for way more innocent reasons.

I hate beating a dead horse with the UNC situation...but how that program and coach escaped trouble is baffling. We talk a lot about how the NCAA rides the nuts of big programs, but I guess they put UL a bit lower on the totem pole than UNC.

edit: Rick needs to give it up and ride into the sunset after this year. I thought he should have considered it after 2013. No way you can beat that year's story. He only will leave a bad memory if he continues.

Is the NCAA "officially" done with UNC? Last I remember they told the NCAA they had no jurisdiction and to basically take a hike!!!
