Until someone goes over there and develops into a lottery pick, I don't see this becoming a huge trend.

Does anyone think this will be beneficial to this kid in the long run? I don't know anything about him but unless he is VERY GOOD how much will he get to play?

1. How much better is he going to get playing in high school?
2. I always find getting a big check to be beneficial.

True the NBA draft is as much about potential as it is current skills. But I do remember Jennings being a solid player coming out of High School.

Tyler isn't as good as Jennings, but he is very good. Rivals has him 9th and Scout has him 7th.

Good for him. What would a typical to good contract pay in European ball? Somewhere in the six figure range?

Do you still think it was a mistake for him to go to Europe?
We'll see when his rookie contract is up. If essentially riding the pine all year in Europe stunted his development and costs him a big payday, the answer is obvious. It has had pretty much zero effect on his draft status for this year.

1. I'm not sure his academics gave him any other option.
2. I'm not sure I ever said it was a mistake. I do remember saying that it was not going to start a large trend. I think this year's senior class bears that out.

I hope so. Dropping out of HS is just sad.

Many Europeans start their pro career at age 15 and above. Tony Parker and a bunch of others are currently in the NBA.

If someone had offered me a six figure salary after my junior year of high school, I'd have told my principal to shove the diploma up his arse and been at work the next day.
