A BCS bowl win over Florida and now both their men's and women's basketball teams are in the final 4. What's up with them being so good this year?

My alma mater.

Will always be a Vol fan at heart, but I'm really happy to see them doing so well.

Good year for the Cards. It's hard to fault Tom Jurich for being a shrewd businessman, but there is a great deal of consternation about their deal with the Yum Center. Basically, it's going under financially because the Cards have first right for anything during basketball season. And taxpayers are footing the bill.

Both programs in the final four, Louisville poised to win the title, all proof that the antichrist is near and the world is gone to hell.

It's a down year for the world.

Louisville's men and women's basketball programs aren't exactly strangers to making the Final Four recently, and Charlie has the football program on a steady climb.

Louisville would have been a good fit in the SEC competitively, but they don't add much in the way of new TV markets for the conference.

Probably would have won a national title in football already if Petrino hadn't bolted.

KFC. Chicken makes you run faster.

Was riding in a taxi in Jamaica last summer, the taxi driver points out a KFC when I told him I was from Kentucky. He says, "You know what KFC stands for, right, mon? Keep dat Fat Coming!"

I wouldn't go that far, but they've had a nice run.

Their only chance was not losing to Rutgers in 2006, but there's no guarantee that Florida wouldn't have jumped them (not likely, but still) or that they could have defeated Ohio State (my money would be on a Buckeye victory in that game).

Louisville just has a good athletics department. Their men's basketball team has been one of the more consistent basketball programs in the country for quite some time now (save for a few bad years under Crum, more than excused by the titles), and the women did make the championship game back in 2009 (the result, I would imagine, will be mirrored by this year's game should they beat Cal on Sunday). Baseball's good, soccer's good, volleyball's good, most sports are good.

Also, scoff if you will, but Louisville does have the best cheerleading and dance teams in the nation. No... really.

You were doing fine until you made that ludicrous statement. Kentucky owns Louisville in cheerleading, And every other school for that matter.

I know either way it's a difference of less than 5 titles (especially small considering you can win, what, three a year?), but I was fairly certain that Louisville surpassed Kentucky back in 2008 or 2009 and has kept ahead to this point.

Could be wrong, though.

Until a UK fan can produce photos topping those of former Louisville cheerleader Rebecca Mans, I give Louisville's cheerleaders the nod over Kentucky.
