What are we really losing.....a deep threat that never showed up in big games and dropped some cherry bombs in his lap.....a QB who was a head case and has potential, but in reality is a bad version of Eric Ainge and didnt do sqaut against anyone who mattered in 3 years.

The only real loss is CP.

The "Butch" slap is about to take control of the SEC EAST get on the wagon now. :loco:

We got a solid OL lets hope we get some stud DT up in here.

We need some defense and speed in the secondary.

It will be interesting to see what the offense looks like next year and what Butch can do with the players that are still in place. It will also be interesting to see how this recruiting class works out.

It is all just a part of the game! We going to have more Vols drafted this year than we've had had in the past five years combined. We are on the way up!!!!

I honestly don't have a problem with anyone leaving (or staying). It is a fact of life in today's football environment. It provides a clean break from the old and gives a fresh start to the new. In the "old" days, freshmen could not play varsity football anyway. Three was all you could ever expect. Those 3 years just come quicker now. 4 years is a bonus.

I like this thread so far. Like the vibe on the team. Like the vibe coming from the former players. Like the noise being made from recruits we have and the fact that we are in the running for a lot of big time recruits still.

If you wanna Bit** about something, go to a different thread. This here is a BUTCH thread.

Now let's go out and Butch slap somebody!

GBO!

Sentimore leaving gives us an extra scholarship to play with. As long as the players buy into CBJ system and play with passion we will be playing in a bowl. We have a lot experience and leadership which will go a long way this year. We ain't got no worries

I somewhat agree. Hunter was just never the same (and I thought he was the best i'd seen before the injury). Bray was always hit and miss. Sentimore leaving has little to no effect. CP's big play ability will definately be the biggest missing element next year. Everyone else can be replaced. JMO

I wish them all the best of luck.

Although I totally agree that loosing Sentimore is not the end of the world, it doesn't free up anything but a possible scholorship for a walk on. No matter what, we can only back count 2 and sign 27 this year. It doesn't matter how many current players leave.

Not that much. He was needed for the 3-4, I thought we were going back to the 4-3.

I wouldn't have minded having him in the 4-3 either, but i think it does make him easier to replace now.

I think we are getting a look from some pretty good DL guys all of a sudden. I think Butch may have a little bit of a magician in him.

I for one am willing to set back and let him work his magic. Let's see if he can do something special in the next month.

We are going back to the 4-3. However, we still need as many SEC-ready bodies on the defensive line as we can possibly muster. Historically, that has always been the highest hurdle to clear in terms of recruiting. The state of Tennessee is producing more high-quality talent than it ever has, but homegrown defensive linemen, let alone UT signees, have always come at a premium.

Define bright: SECG, NCG, or just winning more than we lose?

Steps to Bright

1. Win more than we lose
2. SEC Champs
3. National Champs

Sounds like the same formula every other SEC team uses.

Don't be the guy that ruins this thread.

And, what kind of time frame are we talking about here?

Common sense tells you this isn't a good thing, but it's kind of nice that next season's team will probably be a faceless squad. No so called stars, no hype at all. Here's to Worley,Young and Lane wrecking havoc against the SEC next year.
