Loved the Fake!

The fake was a bonehead call in that situation. Yes it worked. Partially because it was a bonehead call. If Dooley's job wasn't on line he kicks the FG. If he didn't score or get first down its the worst call in history because he gives other team chance to win with FG. If you are going for it fourth and goal then do it with QB. Only god thing from this game is that now we get closure on the Dooley era. Bye bye recruiting class....

Wrong... The fact that drummer was the one who ran it made it the most surprising. It was a smart call. We weren't going to win that game by attempting a FG. I'm surprised palardy even made the PATs in the first 2 OTs.

I will be even more surprised if Palardy is even a Vol next season - the new coach will run him off

It was a smart call cause they evidently saw something on film that told them it would work if ran. That is coaching. Dooley can talk about it next yr while practicing law.

It's a stupid call. He put the game and his job on the line for a fake FG. That's stupid. I am sure you would have loved it when they tackle him for a loss too right? I am just saying if you are going for it on 4th down inside the 10, do it with your offense on field not FG team. Too much on the line in OT they had to get points there of some type or it was game over.

The reason it was a good call is because it was the normal FG unit out there and no one in that stadium expected that to happen and certainly not mizzou.

The play worked. No doubting that but to call it a great call is crazy. And you basically made my point. He put the game on the line with the FG team attempting a fake. It wasn't a situation where you run a fake and if you don't get the first down the other team gets great field position. If the play doesn't work your team loses and your coach loses his job. It was a desperate play for a coach that had nothing to lose. He wins game or puts home up for sale. That's why he had the balls to do it. That doesn't mean it was a good call. Like I asked earlier...how many think its a great call if he gets stopped short?? If everything is on the line I want my best players on the field.

It was great call no matter the outcome. I even believe going for it on 4th in OT4 was the right call, not a great call, but prob the right one. The way mizzou was moving the ball, we were not going to hold them to a FG. And we all know how reliable palardy is.

The really strange thing about Dooley is that regardless of which decision he makes, he is always wrong. Not from a perception only, but in reality too. He really has bad mojo.
