Sophomore defensive end Sam Montgomery is perhaps the most ebullient player on the LSU football team. In other words, he is a great quote, and coach Les Miles may have to squelch that a bit.

After LSU knocked off reigning Pacific-10 Conference champion and BCS national championship game runner-up Oregon 40-27 on Saturday (after leading 33-13 early in the fourth quarter), Montgomery had quite a bit to say about his Southeastern Conference, which has won five straight national championships.

“I would like to speak on behalf of all SEC teams,” Montgomery said. “I just think we run the NCAA, period.”

He was almost of Vol. Kind of picked LSU out of nowhere. I would love to have gotten him. He is a heck of a player....

Yeah he was playing real good last year as a freshman until he got the chop on his knee. Hopefully by the end of the year he is full strength.

At the end of the day, hard for non-SEC teams to compete with the SEC DLs. Even the coach of Oregon said something about the size, strength and speed of the DL of SEC teams. What is really funny is most of the DL that saw action against Oregon are Sophomores and even Freshmen (The Freak).
