Is it just me or does LSU look very average this year? They didn't look good against Miss State and UGA(until the last 5 minutes) I was surprised they came into tonight's game at #4. After the performance tonight how far do they fall?

Their D would have gotten a lot more points scored on them if Tebow wasn't so hesistant/timid. The play calling was very conservative for him and it was very obvious.

The #4 ranking is because people can't wrap their heads around a TCU or Cinci being actual top ten material.

LSU should have at least 2 more losses.

LSU fans feel about the same when it comes to their offense as we do ours. Watching that game tonight was frustrating when they had the ball.

I think TCU and Cincy are more than deserving of Top 10 rankings. Nice post All Vol.

Yeah, but they don't.

When TCU and/or Cinci play a real team, the jig is up. Go look at their schedules. They're a joke. Same for Boise.

Don't forget about HI being 11-0 going into the Sugar Bowl a few years ago, all hyped up, and getting taken to the woodshed by GA.

When teams like these play a real SEC or Big 12 team, they'll get worked.

That's the problem with the MAC, the WAC and the Big East. They're all full of terrible teams which allows the best of the worst to rise to the top and get into the top 25 or even the top 10.

Why? Because they've respectively beaten:

9/12 @ Virginia 1-0 (0-0) W 30-14
9/19 Texas State 2-0 (0-0) W 56-21
9/26 @ Clemson 3-0 (0-0) W 14-10
10/03 Southern Methodist 4-0 (0-0) W 39-14
10/10 @ Air Force 5-0 (1-0) W 20-17

DATE OPPONENT W-L (CONF) RESULT
9/07 @ Rutgers 1-0 (1-0) W 47-15
9/12 Southeast Missouri State 2-0 (1-0) W 70-3
9/19 @ Oregon State 3-0 (1-0) W 28-18
9/26 Fresno State 4-0 (1-0) W 28-20

Those are some really tough schedules. Whew.

And you don't forget Utah taking Alabama to the woodshed last year in the Sugar Bowl.

Alabama went from 12-0 and playing for a trip to the national title to playing Utah in a consolation game. It isn't hard to imagine a letdown. I hate that the Big East team could play an ACC team in the BCS. Both teams will claim superiority if they win without deserving to do so.

Call it whatever you want, it happened. You can't point to the Hawaii example and then ignore the Utah example.

not being negative, but we look good and lose to florida by ten, and LSU looks bad and they lost by ten. i think LSU is way better than what we are, but with les miles they are slowly on the decline.

Yeah, we can. Hawaii was out to prove something. Bama wasn't trying to impress anyone. They shouldn't have played like that, but it wasn't the same Bama team that played UF for the SEC championship. You would have seen a different team if they were playing Texas or someone like that.

Then they might as well just tell the non-BCS teams to piss off, because obviously they can't win. If they win their BCS game, then there's always going to be some lame excuse why they did. If they get beat then obviously they don't belong. It's all bs.

Not really. They just shouldn't make it so easy for non bcs teams to get in. It should take more than running the table against an easy schedule. They should have to play some better teams and actually do well. Utah in 2004 seemed good throughout the season. I wish they got a better opponent than Pitt. I think 2006 Boise State and last year's Utah teams were completely overlooked by their opponents, and that is why they won. Boise State's win made people pay attention to mid majors for a year, until Georgia blew out Hawaii, which I think probably caused people to forget about the mid majors again.
