After the Ole Miss clock debacle, the resulting public scrutiny and the loss of assistant coach (and lead recruiter) Larry Porter to Memphis, this has been a tumultuous season for head coach Les Miles. But things could be going from the proverbial frying pan into the fire now. According to a report by Times Picayune writer Jim Kleinpeter, LSU could be looking at possible NCAA violations in its football program.
Athletic Director Joe Alleva has announced that the school is looking into possible violations by an assistant coach and one of the players on this year's team. If this is true, the embattled LSU coach could be looking at further grumbling from the disenchanted fan base. Miles is 8-8 in SEC games since winning the national title in 2007 and has been battered time and again for his dubious on-field decisions late in games. Bad off-field news is the last thing his bruised season needs.
