Why has LSU been so hot in recruiting the past few years?

Saban and winning helps out a lot. Plus, LA is a hot bed of talent anyway.

I think last year when we had our worst season in many years, we still had the talent and guts to stuff it in for a win on LSU and Miles. I think that was a glaring example of the direction LSU is going in the next 5 seasons. LSU is my 2nd favorite SEC team....but when we beat them last season on that last drive its was outstanding!

I dont think Miles can sustain the saban success
There's truth in them there words. I think he'll get some decent recruits but underachieve. A continuation of what he did at Oklahoma State.

I wouldn't say he underachieved at OK State. Nobody wins big there.

Either way, he didn't do much. I'm not gonna give him any kudos until he does. He got to use Texas and Oklahoma as an excuse as to why he didn't win there. So now what does he do? Blame Auburn and Georgia?

That is to say, I've seen OKState fans use that defense.

I just think it was a poor hire by LSU.

if i remember correctly, he beat OK a couple of times as well. Miles, i think the book is still out on him, but i don't expect him to have the same kind of success Saban had. he's set up pretty well right now cause the talent is there. If they keep winning, LSU will keep getting the talent in LA, which should keep them competitive for a while. And that doesnt' mean they have to win the SEC every year, but until proven otherwise, it's them and Auburn at the top of the SEC W. But as Bama gets better, as ARK gets better, the top of that division could get muddled just like the SEC E over the next 2-3 years.

that more than anything could be the down fall of Miles than anything else. I don't see him winning championships like Saban did, but i can see LSU being a consistent 9-10 win team for the next few years, with a couple of division titles in the mix.

Does Bama show any sign of improving their offense? It has been terrible the last couple of years. They have to improve it to contend. Defense may win championships, but you win football games by putting more points on the board than the other team.

better relative to where they've been...they are on the way up, now how steep that curve is, is still out.

they will definitely have issues if the qb situation doesn't work itself out, and there's still no certainty about Prothro coming off that injury last season.

but, i believe this season is the last year of any of the probationary issues affecting the team at all, so in 07, they're back on level footing with the rest of the conf. And it's Alabama. they'll be back....sooner or later.

and Defense can go a long way in determining your season's out come. plus they should have a decent offensive line. if they're good up front, everything gets easier despite maybe not having exactly the greatest at all skill positions.

The offensive line has been the primary reason for their offensive struggles lately, IMO. Darby can't get out of the backfield often and Croyle spent a lot of time on his butt (Honk if you sacked Brodie).
