LSU is the most talented team in the country. They are loaded. They win in Gainesville if they don't shoot themselves in the foot a 1/2 dozen times and get help from the refs. We have to hope for some of those meltdowns for the following reasons.

1. LSU will be able to rush at us all game. Hopefully we can slow them, but I see problems here.
2. We'll have to run the spread all game or EA will get too much pressure. We will have problems gaining yards rushing in the spread against their front 7 no matter what.

If we beat LSU, I think we run the table. Bama is in trouble and I think our coaches will have our team very focused and ready for Arkansas. AU was not ready. We spank USC like redneck child in a K-Mart.

i'm more worrieda bout Bama right now, but just on face value, i don't think we can count on 5 turnovers from LSU. And our D is not as good as Florida's right now, so i'd expect LSu to be able to score some points...

Thank goodness their coach acts as a talent governor.
very well said...i wonder how long the LSu faithful will take this?

the funniest thing about that game was going in to half time and Les Miles says "we will make a statement in the 2nd half".

1st play, muffed kick off, that results in a fumble recovery for a safety.

Nice adjustment, nice statement...must have been a great pep talk Les.

I think LSU missed their chance to beat us last year. They will be tough, but they are the ones facing the uphill battle.

yep...but they do get us after an off week....and they paly KY and Fresno St. the next two weeks...i'd say they'll have plenty of time to work on a game plan for us...

this game still means a lot to both teams. LSU didn't come in to this season even considering 3 losses...in conference no doubt.

LSU is always dangerous because of their talent. But I would concur that they have two serious drawbacks:

1. Les Miles
2. Jamarcus Russell

agree with 1....and agree with 2, but it depends on which JR shows up...he looks great some games, and looks JV in others....hoping the JV version shows up.

I talked to several LSU fans this past weekend. A lot of them were saying they wanted Matt Flynn to take Jamarcus's starting role. Do you think this could happen. I saw what he did to Miami last year in the bowl game. He was pretty impressive there.

LSU's running game is about like UT's was a few weaks ago - under producing. Vincent & Broussard are not getting it done and Scott and Williams are injured.

They have the talent at WR like UT's talent and will put a lot of pressure on the DBs and LBs to cover and not make mistakes.

Two things that will go a long way to beating LSU will be to control Glen Dorsey at DT and to put pressure on Jamarcus. He will force things from time to time.

I would not be surprised to see Matt Flynn come in to run some plays since he is a more mobile QB than JR and if you remember we have not bee nable to stop a running QB since LSU started it back in the SEC champ game in 01! With their schedule leading up to our game, they will get him more playing time.

I've noticed that JaMarcus Russel does very well playing Louisiana Tech and Mississippi State, but in the big games against real teams (AU & FLA), he chokes. I hope he does against us.

LSU was badly outcoached by Florida. Hopefully UT can do the same. Our special teams seem to be on about the same level, at least.

I am going to go ahead and make the following disclaimer: I have not read any of the posts thus far in this thread, so my post might possibly seem redundant. Oh well.

The LSU game is now a game that I am worried about. Coming into the season, I felt that we were no match for LSU, but that we could still finish 11-1. After the Florida game, I figured 10-2 is not bad. However, after the way we played Saturday night, and the way LSU played Saturday afternoon, now I feel that the LSU game is a toss up. What I used to feel I could just write off as a loss, I now feel is a very winnable game, which means that losing to LSU would really upset me now (as it would not have two weeks ago.)

We need to take care of business against Bama and SC, then Ainge, Coker, Foster, Meachem, and our entire defense need to come out hot against LSU. The rest of our games this season are very winnable, and we could definitely be looking at an at-large selection to a BCS bowl.

Absolutely correct. He choked big time in the SEC championship last year. Then, when they had largely been written off, Matt Flynn came in to reveal their full potential. The result was an embarrassment of Miami in the Peach Bowl. I don't think Matt Flynn is as physically talented as Russell, but when you have athletes like LSU, you just need someone to get the ball in their hands. That's why Jason White did so well at Oklahoma.

J. Russel does not have a Cut type QB coach in his face. He makes more statements in the press than he does on the field. Sad case for a man of his true raw talent. He'll get drafted, but he want be 1st round like he ought to be. Instead of Flynn, I'd like to see what the Perriloux kid has. He ditched Texas to stay at home.

i think most would agree with you on the "winnable" part...there's not a team left on our schedule that i don't think we can't beat either...though the next four will be full of land mines. turnovers, penalties, etc...are things we have avoided so far this year, at least in such quantities that they they have cost us. If we are to win the next four, that has to continue.

I too will be upset at losing any of the remaining games...as the season has gone on, expectations have been adjusted. I'd hate to lose any of them, 10-2 at this point doesn't sound as good as it did before the season....but i won't be completely disappointed either...as i thought we'd lose three games, so in the end, if that does happen, they still would have exceeded my original expectation.
Still a long way to go. these next four.....:crossfingers:

I never overlook LSU. They are always dangerous. If they keep their status quo, i am sure by games end we will be driving. If Miles sees and makes the proper adjustments, it's all about the fight then. My philosophy this year with the new clock thingy...don't be behind with less than 2 minutes to play.
