Anybody notice Lucases great potential at punt returning. It just seemed like he has the speed and quickness to get it done. I have a feeling he will be very good in years to come.

Yep, imagine what he could do with a wall in front of him.

Run into it like the rest of them do? :dunno:

He shows a good burst and hits the wedge harder than anybody else I've seen, but like Donsarge alluded to, he's going nowhere until we actually start blocking somebody.

He fumble one, though...He can be electric, but if he fumbles I don't want him back there....If he can correct that then yeh we have a return threat...

I had to actually look his bio up to see who he was. Freshman out of LA. Listed at 5'10", a buck-sixty-eight. Ran for 539 yards one game last year as a QB. Pretty adept at the triple-jump, too.

Was that him that almost fumbled the punt late in the 4th quarter? Oh, and Sarge is right: without some blocking, it doesn't matter who returns kicks. Seems to me that we need some physicality and emotion on the special teams -- too many people standing around watching the kicking team run by. Put a body on 'em!

Not to worry. I already had a heart attack and hung myself in the first half, so the damage was done.

I think at this point with our special teams. Everyone is going to fumble as a result of being scared to death of making a mistake.

About the blocking, I agree completely. Something has to change there or we need a guy who can run 2.1 40 and jump 20 yards in a single leap.

Why is this special teams thing so hard to understand for our team. Why doesn't someone drive up to Hokieland and learn a couple of things from Beamer. IMO, It has reached the point of doing something drastic like that.

One of the best things we did in the second half was start banging kicks into the endzone. Skylar Green was killing us.

Loosen Taylor up on ST, He'll be a fine WR.

I read somewhere, Back in the spring/summer camps he was one of the of the quickest on the team.
