FYI...

@TomLuginbill: The #Vols need to go with Josh Dobbs & never look back. Build the whole offense and the future around him. They got something in that kid.

He did look good out there for the time he was in the game. I'm not sure that Worely is done as the starter though. The receivers are having too many drops.

I agree. Worley is a smart guy but limited in ever other way.. If Dobbs can be smart with the football i don't see a negative going forward with him.

Before everyone goes crazy..... Ask yourself why is Tommy Lugunbill a reporter and not a coach.

Where is his experience to make a statement like this. He played QB for GT under Bill Lewis for one year. So, he is now great judge of talent.

Dobbs played 2 qtrs. Let the young man develop before making him the next Tee or Peyton.

He's a very knowledgeable and respected football guy. His credentials speak for themselves. He never overhypes anyone, and is a fair and honest journalist

Dobbs looked pretty good, a few underthrown passes and clock management issues (which could be coaches uncertain which plays he can run). He had great pocket presents though. lol

Listen. I am a vols fan.
This board tends to go ballistic when a reporter says something you want to hear.

If someone on tv says something, does that make it true or more believable.

I am not sure I would start him over a healthy Worley right now, but I would start him over Worley while his Worley's hand is hurt. He does posses escapability when the play breaks down which we have not had in a while. Seems like we have a better chance with Dobbs while Worley's hand is healing.

You have an average at best junior qb with an injury. Two talented freshman qbs. You have a .500 record. Go with the young fella now that he's burned his RS.

Dont remember anyone saying he was. Dobbs can make the throws Worely cant and adds the run factor to the read options. Yes he will make mistakes but Worely is second to last in the SEC in rating only ahead of Allen at Arky. And leads the SEC in interceptions so even the taking care of the ball argument is out.

This. I hope Worley is healthy, but with Dobbs's redshirt already burned I think he might give our offense a bit of an added dimension. If he shows he can protect the ball and not turn it over, I almost think we have to go with him against Mizzou.

In my mind, the only reason you start Worley is if Dobbs has trouble not turning the ball over. Then again, it's hard to gage that outside of real game situations. It's a bit of a catch-22.

I know a week of practice could make a big difference, but how much of the playbook can he run? It seemed like they run a lot of the same plays over and over yesterday. (Just asking a question here.)

Dobbs looks like a QB that can run the read option and be a threat to run

Worley just wasn't a threat to run, which kind of puts us at a disadvantage in the read option

I do feel bad for Worley. He tried his best and played hard. He's just not cut out for this offense

I didn't need to her anyone else say it, I can see it with my own two eyes. Dobbs is head and shoulders better than Worley is or could be. The redshirt is gone, no reason not to go forward with the better player now.

Worley did his best I respect his toughness and for helping team 117 and BJ secure the first win over a top 25 team in a long, long time. However, anyone with eyes can see that he is limited in his skill set and can only take this offense to a certain level. Dobbs has a better long term future at QB, and since we are through with the most brutal stretch of our schedule, it only makes since to let Dobbs finish the year as the starter and build for the future. Jmo.

I know Mizzou lost to SC, but I am not sure about the brutal part being over.

.... and it's a good one. Couldn't agree more. Much thanks to Justin Worley, I appreciate and respect what he's done for the program. Now time to move on to the future QB who actually gives us a better chance to beat Mizzou next week.
