Who else honors opposing teams' football coaches (i.e. guys you're recruiting against) at their spring game?

Brown is the winner of the 2013 Neyland Trophy award, as Corso is the winner of Lindsey Nelson Broadcasting award.

Given the resources at his disposal, Mack Brown is the most under-achieving coach in college football.

well it is given by the knoxville qb club and was designed as a way to honor coach...it is given to the man who has done great things for collegiate athletics...so you know if you have a problem honoring the general then by all means keep it up

Cool. So I guess we can recognize Saban at our spring game next year. It's all about honoring the general, right?

the award had been around since the late 60's and if any of you think that this could in anyway hurt us in recruting then you are a drama queen who has to find a way to bash everything the university does...i am sure green bay fans are pissed about the lombardi trophy and that georgia tech is pissed about the heisman...you know there are tons of top recruits who give a flip that we even give this award

Yeah, about that....you know since we can't seem to get them to play us anymore, y'all want to? I mean, we're still little sister and all right?

Just enjoy Mack's speech. He's a helluva guy I hear.

I don't know what their specific criteria are for these awards, but the only justifiable rationale I can see for picking Mack Brown is the fact that he is a native son (see Mack Brown - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Like his older brother, Watson, he was born in Cookeville. And, like Watson, he started his college career at Vanderbilt but, at least, had the sense to transfer to Florida State. As for Corso, the man is a walking, talking cartoon. To honor him as a "broadcaster" is, quite simply, laughable.
