Mack Brown fired his DC

Seems eerily familiar to UT's 2005 campaign (with offensive and defensive roles reversed..)

GERG gave up 37 to UMASS, 65 to Illinois, 52 to Mississippi State, 38 to Iowa, etc...

Giving up 550 yards on the ground in 1 game pretty much assures somebody's ass is going to get canned immediately.

Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. My guess is someone at the other UT gave him the "fix this or else" speech and this was the natural reaction.

But I don't see ol Mack sticking around after this season. Texas has another three potential losses coming it's way: Oklahoma, TCU, OSU. Shoot, even Baylor and Texas Tech have a shot.

I can easily see Texas stumbling around to a 6-6 record and going to the Texas Bowl in Houston probably with an interim Head Coach.

Hmm, 7-5 or 8-4 maybe. Either way, that's the end of Mack Brown. Anything under a 10-2 season with a bowl victory is considered a bad season in Texas.

I posted this just last week. There are a lot of parallels between Mack's demise and Sir Phillip's.

Yeah, I agree. Only difference is that Texas won't hesitate to fire his rear end after another loss or two. Whether that's a wise decision or not, I do not know.

Fulmer is still a better coach, all day, every day.

Mack Brown should have a trophy named after him for who does less with more.

Maybe they didn't want to fire the HC after 2 games, but they hope this will make him feel the heat.
