Thanks for a "newer" one! 2001 was the first year I remember really following Tennessee football as a kid

We had a great team in 2001. I sure would like to see a return to such a dominating, punishing defensive line.

Had tickets to this game and could not get out of work to save my life.. I was sooo pissed off I ended up cussing my boss and got fired. But I got to the game right as half time was ending. Was worth it.. :)

It's stunning and saddening to watch Corso in these older Gameday broadcasts.

I was there and didn't see the pre-game stuff. Doesn't matter, the game is played on the field. Take note. This was before 365 day per year college football coverage. There is no reason to get your panties in a wad when "X" predicts an upset over the Vols.

The only pre-game stuff that mattered was John Henderson getting his game face on.

My dad took me and my 2 brothers to that game, which was delayed that year due to 9/11 attacks if I remember correctly?

Was a great trip and a great victory! That game ran Spurrier off to the NFL!

My dad took us again in 2003 for another great win! 2-0 at Florida!

He had a heart attack in 2005 and passed away far too young in 2007.

I won't be back to Gainesville.

Not sure many agree but IMO the loss in the SEC championship game that came on the heels of this great win in FL was the start of UT's slow decent into where we are now. Perhaps too simple but we were on the cusp of another NCAA title chance and never really recovered after losing to a somewhat mediocre LSU team.

On another note, our loss to UK under Dools may turn out to be just the opposite.

Fulmer had some big victories after that loss (Miami '03, Georgia '04 and '07, Florida '03 and '04 and Cal '06) but there is no question that game signaled the end of our run as a contender under Fulmer - I hate the jump the shark cliche but that's what it was.
