Curt will be a big part of the turnaround we will witness this season. His combination of size and speed, plus the experience he brings will elevate the defense big time.

"He's our leader. He's the one who has everyone's respect," Jones said. "When Curt Maggitt talks, everybody listens. He's the one getting up in front of the room."

He has worked so hard to come back from the ACL and looks ready to step in and be a leader.

'From all indications, he is doing exactly that. He's up to 253 pounds and still has the quick-twitch burst that was so apparent when he started eight games as a freshman in 2011. His presence injects speed into a defense that has been lacking in that area for the last handful of years.'

Anyone that says he is too small needs to look at Beasely down in Clemson.

I hope this team can even get remotely close to matching the fevered pitch everyone seems to be working themselves into already.

I've been saying the same this year. Anyone that watched him on the sideline could see he was the energy and catalyst for that sideline. He's bottled it up for an entire year and it's about to be opened up on somebody.

I'm going to relish watching him knock some QB flat on his ass.

Remember too this was a hard ass hitting D I think it goes up another notch with the return of Maggit.

New players, new coach, new 'tude, new season, lots to be excited about. Paybacks are gonna be Hell!

People forget how dominate he was against NC state. Closing speed is ridicious

I recall that game, he's the best defender UT has without a doubt. In the UGA game that season when Sunseri sent him after the QB he was unblockable at times.

You're right. We're better off approaching the start of football season with a "meh". I mean, we've only been waiting for 9 months.
