A quick review: Tennessee went 5-6 last season because its offense went out of its way to discover new paths of destruction.

That's funny now. But not last year:zeitung_lesen:

Tennessee has won 5 of the last 7 in Athens. Here's to making it 6 of 8.

the only thing bad about this, is that we are getting all these props for beating Marshall and Memphis...

let's beat UGA this weekend, then we'll have something to hang our hats on.

I agree with that 100%...If you think about it...We really don't have a "signature" win for the season...Yeah, the Cal game was nice and all but they have proven they were somewhat overrated in that game.......UGA is overrated too but they're an undefeated top 10 team and we beat them at home, just like LSU was last year.....This game could make or break our SEC East hopes....Let's hope it makes them possible:rock2:

i think Cal has come a long way since the 1st game and providing evidence that they may not have been overrated, but that they may have just been overwhelmed...that win is looking better and better as the weeks go along.

and we haven't beaten UGA yet?

Sorry LOL.....I was getting a little ahead of myself but I was saying that last year that LSU win was our signature win for last season, and even though this year isn't no where near as bad as last season was that if we could beat UGA that could be our big win for this year...so far

Disagree. Not just beating like last year on weaker teams. But dominating. Big difference from last year from weak to strong teams. We perform this year every week. Only dark spot is running game during UF game.

Cal is looking pretty good. They should hit 10 wins (maybe 11). They just weren't ready for that game.

I haven't really kept up with Cal, guess I shouldn't have said that....I just know they've only lost one game and Corso is still picking them to play for the National title LOL

they haven't scored less than 41 pts in a game since they played us...qb and rb and wr are looking like the group that got all the pre season hype.

 It was kinda funny with that... He kind of jokingly kept with the pick after we slapped them around, he thought they were DOA. Now that they've turned it around, he's jumping back on it.

It's kinda funny. The media seems to be giving Cal the benefit of the doubt about that game because they've been putting up crazy numbers since.

Yeah..but Corso did say all along that they "could" lose to TN and still make to the NC by winning out. I don't think they'll make it to the NC even if they win out...but it would be interesting if he called their season that accurately. It would be a record for ol' Lee.

Think about that statement. If they beat Oregon and USC, they're going to have a very real shot at playing for the national title.

There is a difference in winning against your weaker opponents that should be a given, and dominating or beating them. Our ability to actually beat them this year shows we are up to par, and maybe then some.

they'd still need some help...and beating USC is not exactly the easiest way to get anywhere. they'll finish 10-2 likely.

It's a Pac-10 love affair nationally. If Cal, or anyone one else in the PAC-10 gets through USC and ends the season with one loss or less, they will be the first draw for the NC game. That's what Corso meant by they could lose to UT and still make it. By that same token, if Wash. runs the table, they'll be in. As long as the Pac-10 winner is either USC or a one loss team that beat USC, they'll be in. Period. The rest of us all in the Big-10, Big-12, and SEC are left to beg. And lets not forget the strange love affair with the Big East in which a WV team that plays nobody could get in. They've got Louisville, and Rutgers in an uncommonly good year. The ACC doesn't even get the props the now crappy Big East gets even after the top teams in the Big East went ACC. But, in any event, UT/UF/AU/UGA/LSU with NC type records at seasons end will have to wait in line behind the Big 12 and Big 10 to go NC level. Auburn would be the only ones to get the nod up this year. Maybe LSU for the hurricane story that can be thrown in.

Unless there are major upsets, it will be the Pac-10 winner and OSU for the title game.

:jpshakehead:

1. The winner of Michigan/Ohio State WILL play for the national title. Period.

2. There is no Pac-10 love affair with the national media. I don't get where it comes from? I've been following Pac-10 football since I started watching football, I haven't seen it.

3. In spite of that, Cal still does have a shot at the title game if they run the table. That's 9-0 in the Pac-10 with wins over Oregon and a very late season signature win over US-freakin'-C.

I'll debate more later... Late for school!

1. True, provided Mich. doesn't trip elsewhere. OSU probably won't.

2. But, your a left coaster, or atleast a transplant. Maybe more of a Trojan love affair since they are on a roll. I'll give props to the PAC-10 being a little more competitive so far this year overall than I'd have predicted. WSU played a good game against USC. Although USC is still winning, I'm not sure they are as good. I'm still looking for the upset there. And whoever does is the other team in the NC. OU will be no patsy either.

3. Kind of combined up in 2.

You'd rather go to class?
