Vols schedule finally softens.

6- game homestand with the best team being Tuesday's Belmont team. Alcorn is dreadful and WKU is mediocre at best.

Then 3 game SEC opening series at surprising Alabama team before 5-game home stand including SEC's worst team Mizzou.

Vols are 4-7 and BETTER be over .500 by 3/13

Alabama was doing well before losing 2 over weekend to Tulane at home.

If Tennessee can win 1 or 2 at Tuscaloser then they will be off to a good start in SEC play. This is the one time where the schedule is soft at beginning where the Vols aren't 4-games under .500 after week three.

I think/home the Young Vols will be 9-8 going to Bama. After Mizzou and going to Vandy I would hope they are 15-10 and (4-2 in SEC)

After Mizzou, the schedule goes down hill again. However, as this team gets older and experience, we "may" be in better position to handle it.

Belmont L

Sweep vs Alcorn(3games)

Split with WKU

Win 1 at Bama

Win 2 of 3 from Missouri

That's 7-5 the next 12 games IMO.

What two games Am i is missing from my prediction?

This team is already much better than last season. Better pitching. Once it warms up some and they get more confident they will do even better.

Heading the right direction.

Moving in the right direction is all we can ask. We have a solid coach that wants to win. That alone is something that's been missing.

Thanks

9-5 is my prediction. Which will still make it hard to get to 20 wins which I have been saying for a couple of weeks.

9-5 would put us at 13-5 with games against ETSU, Longwood, Morehead St, and MTSU (x2). Even if we just go 3-5 in those games that leaves us with 16 wins and means we'd have to lose 22 or more of the remaining 25 games. This team has atleast been competetive, and think we go atleast 4-21. Maybe not much better than that, but do think we pick up a game here or there to atleast get to that point.

I think we are going to get to 20 but its going to be a real struggle and the win total wont be much higher than that.

We have already played etsu so am I Wrong saying we only have one game left with them?

Throw strikes, keep the ball in the park, make the routine plays and you have a chance in every game. That's what they are doing at this point. The hitting will improve as the freshmen get adjusted to D1 pitching.....unfortunately Fri and Sat SEC pitching will go to even another level on most weekends.

They definitely have to make up some ground over the next couple of weeks with this schedule. It will be interesting to see if a young team can keep their focus in every game and every at bat.
