In other news, offensive lineman Malcom Rawls informed the coaching staff Wednesday he will leave the football team and transfer to another school. The Memphis native did not appear in any games during the 2005 season.
I'd put my money on Ivy League or just a smaller school so he can play. I'd say he was about 11th or so on the depth chart for OL. He may have gotten some mopup duty, but I doubt it.
When he was in high school he would spend his summers studying math and physics in Boston. How many football players do that? That's a lot better than spending your summer getting arrested.
Count how many OL we have on the roster. Whatever the total number is that is where he was on the depth chart. Nothing against the kid because he is a very smart kid. So smart in fact that he saw the writing on the wall that he would never play at UT and has decided to go somewhere that he can play.
Fulmer said Rawls wanted to leave because "he was tired of playing football."
"He just came in to see me and said he was tired of playing football," Fulmer said. "He said he might consider going to Morehouse or some smaller school and I told him I wished him well."
