I was really impressed with how well he handled himself during recruiting process. Seems like a really good guy. I also think he will be one of the biggest surprises from this recruiting class.

This brings up an interesting question for me. Excuse my ignorance I was in HS in the sixties, then if we got hurt on the field, gym etc. our parents or their insurance companies paid for any medical issues. Is this still the same in HS or has things changed? Is this why he waited to come to college to address the issue?

Surgery may have not been deemed necessary until now.

I was in HS from '57-'61. Even then, we paid a small amount (I believe it was about $10/yr) for football insurance. I do not recall any parent ever incurring personal expenses for football injuries. My parents could not have afforded such expenses and would not have let me play without insurance.

Nobody likes admitting their poor. He finally got the opportunity to have surgery.

Medical costs and insurance coverage have changed alot since the 1960s.

Especially if you play football. I never had medical insurance in high school. It would cost me a 100 bucks a month I can't afford.

We did not have a sports insurance but we did have a general supplement student insurance, but it was a very low amount of coverage, basically just emergency room.
