...must be incredibly disappointed. All the money that they spent and, not only no title, most likely a fourth place finish.

How so?

Do you think MC wants the FA Cup more than the EPL title?

Of course not. It's a title though. People were ignorant if they thought Manchester City were going to win the league this year, despite all the money they spent. They may very well win next year. But the biggest accomplishment this year is that fact that they qualified for the UCL. That's what people should truly take away from this season.

I got the impression, when I was in London last October, that everyone was expecting Man. City to dominate the EPL. You definitely do not spend the kind of money that they spent in order to finish fourth and just happen to get hot and lucky (with the draw) in the FA Cup in order to squeeze into the Champions League.

I will never understand why people assume buying great players will immediately show dividends. Players have to develop an understanding of one another. Basically half of Man City's starting eleven are completely new to the squad.

Barcelona are so dominant because they have such a good understanding of each others movements, decisions and intentions. You don't develop that over the course of one season.

IIRC, Man City were thirty-five years removed from their last title before today.

Considering where City used to be, I'd say things are looking better than they are worse.

Their fans want the fa cup over the champions league. I saw something on fox soccer a couple weeks back.

Of course they want both, but the trophy is more important.
