Quite a while ago one of my professors was a little put off my my confession that I do not care about the abortion debate since I, as a male, have no real stake in it. I cannot have one and I cannot force anyone else to have one or abstain from having one. That being the case, I always figure why worry about things that are beyond your control. My professor encouraged me to try and think of some way to give myself an incentive to pick a side in the debate. Knowing that my professor was pro-choice I needed an idea that would give me an incentive to support abortion rights and I cam e up with the "manbortion". Basically, a manbortion would work like this:

Female informs me that she is pregnant and it is mine. I go to the local family court clerk and file an affidavit stating that I am not ready to have a kid, or just don't want to have one with this person. Along with the affidavit, I file a cash bond in the amount of the going rate for an abortion in my locality, $500 or $1,000 whatever the going rate may be. At that point I am done and have no obligations toward the female for any future support associated with the child. The court will have the female served with a notice of manbortion and she can choose to take the bond and use it for an abortion or not.

I know that some of you will say the man's choice is whether to stick his dingaling in there in the first place. The problem with that argument is it takes 2 to tango. Why should the woman get to choose whether have sex and whether to be a parent while the man only gets to choose whether to have sex? That is giving women 2 bites at the apple when men only get one. Anyway, that was my idea. i had not thouht about it in a while but the thread on political beliefs made me remember it.

The phrase "not with a ten foot pole" popped into my head when I read this one and the politics and the religion thread....We need football!

I am reminded of what my linebackers coach use to tell me: "boy you'd been better off shot off in a napkin"

For me the problem would be the opposite side of the coin- I couldn't stand knowing I had a kid out there and absolutely no choice in how to pervert it.

Otherwise, a pretty cool legal position/ concept given the current state of things.

It does take 2 to tango, and while it's a woman's body, a child isn't property. If a future mother ignores or decides she can't go along with the future-father's decision, then:

1. A man shouldn't be held legally and financially liable for a child he didn't want for whatever reason.

2. More importantly a child shouldn't be subjected to any connection with a parent that doesn't want it for itself (which includes fake feminists who want to prove they don't need a man as well as creeps who don't think a penis comes with responsibility- including the one that says you find out where a woman's heads at before you put something-you inside her).
