Is he gonna take the 2yr $55 million deal to stay with the Dodgers? Or is he gonna wait and try to get a longer term contract, like he wants?

As a Dodgers fan I would love to get him on a two-year deal but I don't want him much longer than that. I don't think Manny will take two years as he wants 5 or 6 but i don't see any other team giving him 5 or 6 years either. I would be happy getting C.C. or Peavy also but the Dodgers need power more than pitching right now. I would like to know something soon so they can get in on the bids for other players if he signs elsewhere.

Nice to meet you,my fellow Dodgers fan :toast: I am a HUGE Dodgers fan myself. I live in central Illinois...and let me tell you, it was SWEET to SWEEP the Cubs! I never would of been able to live it down otherwise.

I do agreee with you...2 yrs is enough for MANRAM. If somebody is willing to offer him a longer deal, so be it. We do need a frontline stater. Bills will be very solid. Kershaw will get his 1st full season as a starter in the bigs. Kuroda will do just fine. There is a couple holes to fill. I highly doubt we see Schmidt...and if we do, I feel safe to assume it will be as a middle reliver.

I just hope Neds puts another team on the field that can make a run in October. 11 wins good in October to be specific!!!!

:toast: It's nice to finally have another Dodgers fan on here. I thought I was the only one. I think Jason Schmidt is done but i hope they can get something out of him. I agree about the rotation, these young guys will only get better. I think they have some good young hitters but they obviously play better with Manny in the lineup. I think the two years would be good also to give some of those young hitters better pitches to look at (hitting around Manny) until they can break out as All-Stars. I hope they get back to the playoffs, I do like Torre but I hated his lineup with Martin batting cleanup and Blake batting 7th against the Phillies.

I just hate it that Boras makes all his clients look greedy when he is the one behind the scenes controlling things. I like Manny but he will probably get a bad rap out of all of this sorta like Andruw Jones did, IMO.

So they pulled the "mega offer" of 2 years, which was a ridiculous notion in the first place. This ain't football, more years means more guaranteed and Manny's worth is as high as it's gonna be.

My guess is someone will sign him for 4.
