So UT gets two solid starting years out of him, rather than just one with another of spot playing. The value in that second solid starting year is gonna be high considering the talent and depth they lose this year.

According to the participation report (listed with the stats on UT's website), he didn't play, so his redshirt is still intact.

Thanks to everyone for the updates. Definitely don't want Jackson to lose his redshirt. I look for him to be a solid 2 year starter. I have been really concerned with all 5 starters leaving after this year. But with Jones and staff recruiting, I'm feeling much more confident. With Blair and Gennesy at tackle, Jackson and Kerbyson at guard, and Crowder at center, that sounds like a good OL. Throw in Wiesman, Pair, Kendrick, Sanders, Thomas, Brown, and Raulerson, that is a lot of talent. Wiesman and several others will also contend for starting jobs. Next spring is going to be very interesting.
