I know we had some hopes but he seemed to be a Gamecock all the way.

Watching him run against Georgia I think he will be a special back.

As a true freshman doing what he is doing is like Jamal Lewis against UGA, it is not like Travis Stephens or even Ronnie Brown and Cadillac who were not freshmen.

He is not Herschel Walker, but he is a stud freshman running back who barring injury will have a special season for Spurrier.

Relax. He's a nice back, but he's dashing through a Georgia defense that gave up 150 yards rushing and 28 points per game on the road last year.

He looks pretty good, but he's played 1 game and 1 series. Let's see how he holds up before we start throwing around those names.

I dunno. He had a nice set of carries there against UGA. Looks like the next Earl Campbell to me.

103 yards and 2 td's in the first half. I know GA is down with a new DC and a new scheme, but its still an SEC defense. No need to get all excited yet, but the kid is pretty good. Plays pretty physical too.

hes really the only thing they (SC) has. i know they have stud receivers but they dont have anyone that can consistently get him the ball. i think if you shut lattimore down you can have your way with this team

UGA's defense is flat out awful at tackling, but Lattimore has been solid. SOS is just handing the game over to him. 36 carries for Lattimore right now.

Agreed, he has had a lot of carries against a UGA team having issues wrapping up.

I think if he had chosen UT he'd be starting over Poole and Oku. No offense to our guys, but this kid is special.

He is the real deal. I'm a Byrnes alumn myself & saw just about every game he played in. We had a chance before oku & brown committed, after that it was a no brainer. Everybody on here was quick to judge him after the STA game but that was just 1 bad game for him. I hate the gamecocks but it's good to see Marcus doing good. He's a good kid & will be a special player even though it is for USCjr.

I don't care who he has played against...

Coming to campus in June and understanding the offense and being physically ready to compete against any team at the collegiate level let along an SEC defense is worth mentioning.

And anyone who knows football can see he is a very good running back.

I have a feeling that this thread can be bumped weekly. Spurrier has rarely had a stud back and great wrs at the same time, and I do not think he has ever had this many offensive weapons at sc to go with a defense.

****fire. Really went out on a limb there with that prediction that a top 10 recruit might end up pretty good.

Hey guys, new to the site but some of you may know me.

Marcus Lattimore - he is running behind an o-line that has been ranked near the bottom of the SEC in previous years, he doesn't go down on first contact and he falls forward for yards.

The Gamecocks have a great back for the next few years.
