Marcus Lattimore

Yeah, I don't know how anybody couldn't feel terrible seeing him laying on the turf that day. It is nice to see him moving forward with his life in a positive way. Our grandparents had it right, "when life gives you lemons [and it will, I promise], make lemonade." The entitlement generations could learn something from that -- and me too.

I hear you. My eyes started to lightly water when our guys came over to him to pray for him. My wife got teary eyed too and said are you too and I told her it was my allergies. Very sad to see a very talented young man not to continue his career because he was a great back.

I'll be honest. At that very moment I no longer cared about that game, who would win or lose.

It's inspiring seeing the young men like him not let something like that let his life go sideways. We've seen kids with potential throw it away, get kicked off of the team, and some to prison. And unfortunately, the media makes bigger stories of them. But to see young men like him and Inky, turn devastating injuries into triumph is incredible to me.

I was at Lattimore's last college game when he was injured... it was a terrible injury, but it was really special to see both teams come together and form the circle around him. I used to live near Columbia, and one day I was at the fair with my girlfriend and we somehow ended up on the farris wheel with an elderly couple... the woman was involved with the USCjr Athletics Dept and somehow was going on about how sweet and genuine Lattimore was. Definitely a class act, wish we could have had him at UT.

my memories of him w/the cocks was him hardly ever playing. Did I imagine that? And not just physical issues, but also a lot of mental issues. Many said he didn't want to go out on the field and questioned his lack of sportsmanship.

Hope his turnaround is for the long term.

Pretty sure everything you posted is wrong. He was on Heisman lists as a sophomore

You imagined literally every part of your post.

Bout time SC got some class!
JUST KIDDING!
Their fans are some of the classiest in the conference. Lived there for 2 years...you're either a Tiger or Gamecock (LOTS of Vol fans down there too though!)

Really happy for him that things are working out so well.

Gonna have to think of Marcus as the Gamecock version of Inky. Both great young men making something really positive out of hardship.

This may be the dumbest post in the history of Volnation, and that's saying something.

I remember seeing that play live in WB stadium. Eric Gordon made the hit. I really saw it live, meaning I knew it was bad when I watched it live. Most of the stadium didn’t understand until they showed the replay on the stadium screen.

Before they aired it on the screen I looked at my buddies and said his day and season are done. Didn’t know it would be his career.

I remember it, replay, but I hurt watching it. I may love to "hate" teams and players, but only in a fan way. I don't care who anyone plays for, don't want to see them hurt.
