I watched the Treehouse yesterday and, while the game looks great (what else is new), I'm a little concerned about how races are going to be structured.

Interconnected tracks were discussed in the Direct, sure, but yesterday started with a race at this iteration's Mario Circuit for three laps before driving to the next track. I assumed that the drive to the new course was jockeying for position or something, but the drive to the track counted as two laps? And then they just repeat that process?

I'm fine with a gimmick mode, I guess, but I hope online play has the option to (as an example) drive three full tracks at Wario's Shipyard. I never really liked the city tracks from Tour/the MK8D Booster Pack and the "open road" just didn't look that fun to me.

Big fan of the pole position/elimination mode, though.

You don't have to do all the connected stuff if you don't want. The game still offers the traditional circuit mode like MK8.

Elimination mode will be my jam! That's old school arcade racing!

Also FYI, this game on its own is 79.99! But if you buy the Switch 2 bundle you save 30.00.
