Was the headline for an "insider" article on ESPN. Anyone who's an insider know exactly what it said?

In what way?...For the rest of the SEC?....Strong would not cut it in the SEC as a head coach....He's a decent defensive coach but he would be best suited to try his luck in a smaller conference like the sun belt first as a head coach....Besides, I seriously doubt UGA is letting Richt go...They would be fools

f you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Or in this case, raid them of their best assistant coach. Gene Frenette of Jacksonville.com has an interesting take on what could finally weaken the Florida Gators more than just Tim Tebow graduating. It would be the exit of D-Coordinator Charlie Strong.

The Gators have beefed up to become the best defense in the country under Strong, who is now a hot commodity in the head coach carousel. And, if all that fan grumbling of Mark Richt is true, one of the obvious suitors for Strong's services could be the Georgia Bulldogs.

No way Richt is out after this year. Sure they have underachieved under him, but this is his first really bad year and he brought them to heights that they haven't achieved since the 80s. With that said, if they go on to lose 5 or 6 this year, he must fire some assistants, and if they lose 4 or more next year I think he will be out.

Thanks Outdors, just wondering what it was. Figured it was speculation. The talk alone is really helping us with the recruitment of Luc.

I doubt their letting him go, either...but, nobody knows what Strong can do as a head coach, including you.

I have Insider access and its just a reporter from Jacksonville giving his opinion on how to cut into Florida's domination. It's true in one aspect though, losing Charlie Strong would be a HUGE loss for CUM and Florida. He is definitely going to get his shot soon...

You're assuming he's not going to lose very many more games. If they lose more than you think, I think firing Richt is a very likely possibility.

Oh wait...it's in ESPN's rumors section.

ESPN.com's rumor section is really pretty poor as far as realiability most times...one day they had as their link to it on their NFL page "Anquan Boldin's new quarterback....Kerry Collins!" It's almost like they just focus on getting clicks more than anything else

Their rumor section doesn't work on any hints of anything actually happens; just instead their ideas on possible outcomes (and sometimes what should happen)

...this one references an article from a writer for Jackonsville.com...

That he can win as a head coach....An example, Look at how he coached the peach bowl just before Meyer took over...He was completely lost....Believe me, If he was all that somebody would've already hired him.

1) That he can build a staff

2) That he can effectively gameplan a winning strategy with lesser talent against superior talent

3) That he can run a program

4) Hasn't even proved he can run a complete practice that includes both O and D

5) This is too easy/boring .....who cares ? Kiffin will destroy him to....same ole Ga !!!!:crazy:

Im not too certain if you guys can read or not.

We are talking about a comment made that Strong doesnt have the accomplishments to make it as a SEC head coach.

1) D-Coordinators dont get to make staffs.

2) Hard to do when you have more talent than everyone else.

3) D-Coordinators dont get to run programs.

4) D-Coordinators dont get to run offensive practices.

5) This is too easy/boring.... who cares :crazy: Learn to read

I guess i should of said. "What has he not done that Kiffin HAD?" Maybe that would of made it less confusing. You cant say Kiffin is any better at ANY of that than Strong is until he has a chance. While I seriously doubt he would be you still cant make that assumption. I love CLK, you guys sure get fired up to defend him when he isnt even insulted..
