Stoops: UGA 'bought some pretty good players'

Kentucky coach Mark Stoops publicly pleaded for more financial support for his program on his weekly radio show, saying after a blowout loss to Georgia that the Bulldogs had "bought some pretty good players."

This is not entirely wrong although Kirby was turning the corner on recruiting classes before NIL. Stoops delivery wasn't great of this message. Clearly he is encouraging the fans getting more invested but sounds like sour grapes. However that being said this is not worse than the Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher interaction last year. Sabans comments about Texas A&M getting players with NIL and yet to be trumped by Jimbo Fisher going scorched earth in response.

He's not wrong but the timing of the statement is terrible. You need to make this point at the beginning of the season, not after you've been crushed by Georgia. It comes off now as an excuse now.
