Wonder if a big time program might come after him following this season. I could see Ohio State pursuing him if more comes out about Urban. Other than that, doesn’t look like there will be many big time openings this offseason.

The stars are aligned for Stoops this season but they’ll likely take a step back after Snell and some others leave. A few years from now, assuming Stoops stays, they’ll make another run. It’s similar to what Kirk Ferentz has got going on at Iowa. It’s a good model for programs like Iowa and Kentucky, but places like Ohio State wouldn’t have the patience for it. All that said, I think Stoops is there to stay.

Let's see how this season plays out. Kentucky has had these strong starts before then faded (started 5-1 last year, 4-1 in 2015, 5-1 in 2014). It might be different this year because unlike previous years 2 of their 4 victories have been against ranked teams. Florida shouldn't have been ranked this year but of course Kentucky lost to them in previous years, so they are getting better.

It is absolutely plausible they finish 9-3 or 8-4. South Carolina, @ A&M, @ Mizzou, and Georgia look like the losses.

kinda feel like they are this years South Carolina. not as good as their record says they are. still a good team that will likely beat us.

They look better than SC. As a matter of fact, I think they could be a dark horse to win the East and are definitely the 2nd best team in the East right now.

As you can tell, the win over MissSt impressed me a lot. They're supposed to have one of the best front 7's in the SEC and UK's O line was blocking them with no problem. Not only that, but they were able to contain Fitzgerald and MissSt's run game on D.

UK has all the keys to have a really successful season.

I think they will probably beat SC but I was just talking about how SC ended last year ranked decently high because of their record. which didn't accurately reflect how good they were. jmo.

I think they might give all South Carolina can handle this coming weekend.

I think they have a good shot at both South Carolina and Mizzou

How does SC look like a loss for KY at home for them? They've beat SC like 4-5 years in a row now.

Considering the haven't hit the 9 win mark since 1984, a 9-3 record, not counting the bowl game, would be a significant achievement. All of those 4-1 or 5-1 starts also had that first losd right in the middle somewhere. I don't expect them to go undefeated, but getting a good winning streak early can give them a lot of room to work with at whatever point they do eventually loose.

They're ALL lose-able, but the only sure loss is Georgia, with A&M ranking highly as another one.

It's gonna be a special year, then Barnhart better write a fat check to keep Stoops and his prize recruiter Vince Marrow in house.

Marrow could be paid more than Mark for all I care. The guy has an eye for talent and players love him. Gran also deserves some money. He has brought consitency to a job that had a ton of turnover before.

But seriously. If they keep playing the way they have been, UK can beat UGA. Won’t be likely but they can.

UK has a 4 game winnig streak against South Carolina. Meanwhile, we have a 2 game losing streak. Still hard to believe.

Stoops is a good coach who was finally able to implement his system. Kentucky will likely finish 10-2 or 9-3. Kudos to them.
