Marlin Lane is better

It looks to me like Lane hits the hole quicker.

That is one thing I notice about our backs and those on other teams It is the quickness .it looks like we play slower th an the better team. The back on MO team last night was quick and fast. That is one of the big things we are missing and must have to become an elite team.

Total # of rushes?
Rushes during mop up duty?

Nice try.

The sole point of that post was to show that you can't say Lane has a better average therefore he should get the majority of the carries. Waaaay much more goes into who's the starter.

It's not just stats. I could tell you Lane was better without seeing stats. He found a bunch of yards last night that he had no business finding. He's a better running back, and Neal is a better athlete. Unfortunately, you need more than an athlete to compete in the SEC.
Again, the coaches must be blinded at this. Volnation has proven they know what they're talking about so often.

When the number of rushes are close to the same and taken at the same time throughout the games, I think it's a pretty good indicator. It's like they say .................. Stats don't lie. Just like records don't lie. We've lost 5 games because we aren't a very good team right now, Missouri has lost one game because their a pretty good team. Stats don't lie. They might not tell the whole truth, but they don't lie.

I did mention Lane being in the doghouse, I'm sure that's part of the reason he hasn't had more touches. I agree there has to be more to this story because anyone with eyes can see Lane is doing more with less when he gets the ball.

Agree. I just don't get it. Neal averaged 1 ypc last night Lane avg 6.2 yet Neal carried the ball over 3 times as often as Lane. Somebody needs to answer for why Neal stayed in the game last night.

1.Running backs coach.
2. OC.
3. CBJ

Lane averages 5.8 per carry. Neal 5.0.

Is that the stat you're referring to?

Thats a good starting point. Lane is the more physical runner and has much better vision. I will take almost a yard more a carry anyday..

Lane has a way of "picking" his way through a crowded area much better than Neal. When the Oline is sucking it up something fierce like last night those qualities get magnified.

Lane is better running through a crowd and finding space.

I think his legs are a bit fresher than Raijon's too. Raijon has carried the load this far this season and it's starting to show.

Out upcoming bye week will be HUGE in helping us get back to a bowl.

Lane has looked better carrying the ball period. He gets a good run....he comes out. I don't get it. He must be in the doghouse because it's plain as the nose on my face he is better than Neal.
