With Pig Howard out for spring practice and perhaps beyond with personal issues, North is the most productive returning receiver for Tennessee, but he doesn't view himself as a veteran, mostly because he sees too many parts of his game that still need work.

"Marquez from day one came in with a very positive attitude and a very mature approach," offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian said. "As much as anything, he wants to be great, and he's worked really hard. He has since the day he stepped on campus. He has the type of mentality you're looking for in a wide receiver.

"Now it's just a matter of -- as I keep stressing to him -- developing consistency and refining those techniques."

We have to find North a consistent QB! He deserves better than he got from them last year.

Best receiving core in the nation by week 3!Pig may have seen the writing on the wall. Playing time was gonna shrink he might be eyeing a transfer which would make sense with the studs we have at wide out! Not knocking Pig he is just so short compared to those 4. I like my receivers 6'2 or better! Jmo

Seriously doubt it. Pig feeling threatened I mean. Best receiving corps by week 3? I can see it if Pearson shows out like we expect. I would feel a lot better with Pig in the mix though.

And lets not forget it isn't gonna matter how good our receivers are if someone can't get them the ball more efficiently.

I feel confident the QB play will be much better this year after a full year in the system for these guys & WRS (North & Croom) and the stud talents we have added since January in Pearson, Malone and the freshmen TEs. Whoever the QB will be (I think Worley at least to start the season) should have guys who can actually get separation, catch the ball, and be a threat to get significant yards after catch, as opposed to last year.

So the rumors of you're demise were "greatly exaggerated'? Well. welcome back among the living. Now you know how Paul McCartney felt.
