Play Troy State(excuse Troy University).  They love to play SEC schools, and they will go anywhere, and would love to come to your large stadium.  They play Marshall and have beaten them the last 2 years home and away, and it felt great.

I believe UT would play Troy.

However, Bama will not. Nor will they play UAB. Forget the lose/lose crap. UT has played every D-1 team in the state of Tennessee (Vandy, Memphis and MTSU). They play Memphis on a pretty regular schedule as a non-conf. and yes Memphis won one.

Bama and Auburn are doing a disservice to their fans and the state by ducking Troy and UAB - much better to play Utah St., The Citadel, Western Carolina, La. Tech, NIU, MTSU, etc. :shakehead:

Only UT hasn't played a D1-AA school since 1983 and in fact is the only SEC school not to play one in the 1990's and the 2000's

2000
Georgia Southern at Georgia
Southwest Missouri State at Arkansas
Western Carolina at Louisiana State

2001
Wofford at South Carolina
Richmond at Vanderbilt
Weber State at Arkansas
Murray State at Mississippi

2002
Northwestern State (La.) at Georgia
Furman at Vanderbilt
Western Carolina at Auburn
Citadel at Louisiana State

2003
Florida A&M at Florida
Murray State at Kentucky
Tennessee-Chattanooga at Vanderbilt
Western Kentucky at Auburn
Western Illinois at Louisiana State

2004
Georgia Southern at Georgia
Eastern Kentucky at Vanderbilt
Western Carolina at Alabama
Citadel at Auburn
Maine at Mississippi State

67, I'm too lazy to check it all myself, and I'm kind of scared to ask, but has any SEC team LOST one of those games?

Answered my own question: Miss St. lost to Maine last year in a 9-7 barnburner.

(sorry, delayed post)

Mississippi State was also beat by Troy State in 2001. Troy State was D-IAA at the time. Also, Kentucky lost to Ohio last season who is bad enough to be a D-IAA team.

If UT should change policy and take a I-AA, I think it should be UTC. They need the money bad, and it would be helping a in-system school. That being said, I don't think the Vols oughta be playing I-AA's.
