Martin commits secondary at Missouri State

There are so many idiotic rules I would expect things like this to happen at every college in America. It is so bad that schools have to have their own NCAA compliance office.

I doubt there is a coach who hasn't committed secondary violations. Walking on eggshells with those silly rules. Glad he didn't try to cover it up

I love how the article juxtaposed Martin's menial violations with those of the previous staff. Griff the crime dog had nothing to do with this, apparently.

I find comfort in that he only committed one violation in three years. He self reported and then stopped recruiting the kid. Not to mention his time at Purdue.

When I read the title of the article, I was worried that they were trying to turn it into something big (Kiffin style).

But the tone of the article was pretty positive.

The most interesting thing about this article is Martin's contract clause that extends it for any recruiting or post season hit UT takes. Nice negotiating.

Thanks. I caught that but considered the Hilljackistanis would not, given their ivory tower in the Anderson County mountains.

Actually, that's standard for contracts when an NCAA investigation is not yet resolved.

Nothing really to see here.

Compliance department at MS doing their jobs. Coaches being truthful when they do make a mistake. And not repeating the same mistakes again.

I think its a good sign, you're gonna need to be able to commit some secondary violations if you want to compete in the Sec. He just needs to remember the "cover up" is worse than the crime...

Martin's commits were secondary to what?

This will only add fuel to the fire that Martin is handling the Jones/Ware situations improperly.
