Sorry if this has already been discussed and please merge if necessary.

Read somewhere that Jancek was the LB coach while martinez was the DC at UGA.

Now that the roles are reversed and Martinez has to work under Jancek, how would that be.

I would hate to work under someone who was reporting to me in the past (just from an ego standpoint).

When you get an opportunity to surpass your leadership And flip rolls with them, Continue to respect them and understand the reasons they were put in that position for the first place, Great leaders will get the most of the people under them!
As far as being in the subordinate role, embrace it, learn from it, It's not easy is just part of life. Everyone has their niche just like John Chavis will never be a good head coach because he was born for coaching defense !

The bottom line Is that we got a **** load of work to do at Tennessee, and these boys know from personal experience that it takes hard work and incredible determination and will power to accomplish winning in the SEC

If it was going to be a problem then they wouldn't accept the job offer.

You can bet that CBJ will cover all the issues since this isn't his 1st HC job.

VFL...GBO!!!

How was Georgia's defense while they were there?

When Martinez was DC , he sucked . He was better as a position coach then as a DC. He was not as bad as Sal but he was giving up big plays and yards .

This trend started at UGA. WM was DC, then Richt (before eventually being forced to fire WM) made Jancek and WM co-DCs, IIRC.

This.

The OP's issue was dealt with years ago. Jancek was the one that hired Martinez here. They are close and trust each other. The entire D staff had previous interconnections with one or more in the group.

I am very pleased with where this is heading on D.
