Marvel's Agent Carter

Starring Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger), the drama is based on the One-Shot featured on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray release

It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.

"Marvel's Agent Carter" is executive produced by Christopher Markus, Steve McFeely, Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Jeph Loeb.

Kudos to Marvel for branching out even if this seems like an odd choice.

Wonder if they will use the show to introduce some more Golden Age heroes like the Submariner perhaps.

I have my doubts on this show being successful as it will be a period show.

Comic-Con News:

Looks like the greater Marvel Universe is officially coming to the upcoming Marvel’s Agent Carter – at least behind the camera. It was announced today during the Marvel TV panel at Comic-Con that Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo will be helming the second and third episodes of the ABC series set to debut in 2015. Captain America: The First Avenger director Joe Johnson will helm the fourth episode, with Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito set to direct the first one.

The announcements were made after a short teaser video was shown to a packed Ballroom 20. Mostly a voice-over via President Harry Truman, the post-WWII-set series promised fans that they would discover a “different side of the Marvel Universe.” Agent Carter picks up in 1946 and the first version of S.H.I.E.L.D. coming together as the Cold War heats up. Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb said the show hasn’t started stated filming and the writers room opens next week.

When I first heard about this, I thought it would be Sharon Carter. Didn't realize it was going to be Peggy in post-WWII.

Interesting to note, Agent 13 in CAWS went by Kate. Alias?

Didnt BW say her name was Sharron at the end?

Maybe, can't remember. I need to go see it again. Missed a few scenes. Took little ones to watch it, and it's hard to see an entire movie with my 5 year old niece's bladder.

I'm looking forward to it. I'm missing not having any of the comic shows on TV right now. I hate the breaks.

Pretty decent show I must say. I think Hayley Atwell will be a decent Peggy Carter. She's very likable and easy to cheer for. The fight scenes were well choreographed and well filmed I thought. They stole the typewriter idea from Fringe though sans the mirror. Thought it was odd she had a cool device to open the safe but was using an old school pick for the desk drawer. A few WB/CW actors made the show, Sousa is from Dollhouse and the girl at the diner is from Nikita. I still think she's smoking hot! Jarvis freaks me out because he makes me think of Benedict Cumberbatch.

I watched it last night and I agree it was really good. Nice getting Dominic Cooper to reprise his role as Howard Stark and the clips from Captain America helped tie the show together.

This is something I wish MAS would do more.

Much better start for this show than Agents of Shield had when it started.

That's for sure but I stuck it out with AOS and it finally paid off.

Absolutely. I quit on Shield after 4 episodes. Decided to restart season 1 now that it's on Netflix, though.

Very slow start to the AOS series but it does get better further in.
