Looks like Delta State offers a mascot scholarship of $250 per semester + book allowance. From what I can tell a majority of D-1 schools do not even offer cheerleading scholarships.

haha funny story. our cross town rival actually started a fight with me this season. in our stadium. all of our fans jumped onto the sidelines and pulled him off me and beat the crap out of him. four people were arrested for assault.

I was thinking more about having to take a few of these in the head. [attachmentid=4313]

The qualifications to get into UT are getting harder every year. If you have sub par grades you probably need to go the junior college route first. Good Luck!

Partied with the X-Smokey during the 93 season. Met him through a friend at one of the games. Fun and crazy guy. Wish luck to anyone going for the Smokey job. It is demanding position.

Same thing happened when they started the HOPE (lottery) scholarship in Georgia. People assumed that it would create a great influx of disadvantaged kids who would otherwise be unable to attend college but instead it just made it harder for those kids to get in because a lot of the kids who might have gone out of state or to private school decided to go to UGA or GaTech since they got free tuition.

Also, I had so-so high school grades but somehow scored in the 92nd percentile in the SAT. I got several scholarship offers from schools that I did not even apply to based just on that one test.

Tennessee also has a number of scholarship programs available to any student scoring above a modestly-high mark on the SAT/ACT and/or GPA. Hope Scholarships (lottery) are available for those with an ACT of 21 or higher, but are not "full-rides," $3300 a year, I believe. You can get more if your GPA is higher. There are others (Robert Byrd, Ned McWherter) with higher amounts, but the academic requirements are a little more stringent.

My SAT scores are pretty much the only way schools are even accepting me.

Yeah. If it were not for that one test I probably would hafve considered myself lucky to get into MTSU. I had the same thing happen on the LSAT. As someone who has benefitted greatly from standardized tests I like them but IMO they really do not prove much of anything other than you are a good test taker who does not stress-out in a pressure situation.
