A day after being named SEC Player of the Week, Ariel Massengale has moved on to national awards. On Tuesday, the junior Lady Vol point guard was named NCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Massengale has played very well. Her shooting has been awesome. I have been saying for a year that, with her frame, she should be driving to the basket more to score, dish or draw fouls--and I totally believe that. But she has instead taken a lot of outside shots and made most of them. She is better.
