Jones the Uk homer, said this morning on Mac & Cube that he “wouldn’t be surprised to see Stoops quit after this season”. Said Stoops appears burnt out from all he’s been doing, wanted out last year & brother Bob tells him how great “retirement” is.

Vols need to lay a big butt whoopin on him next Sat.

I hope they force him into early retirement by hanging 70 on them, while they can only muster a big greasy NOTHING BURGER
I hope the opposite.

I hope Stoops and Napier stay at their current gigs for many, many more years to come. They are two of my favorite rival coaches currently.

It's almost as good as having unlimited pre-registered artillery fire available, 24/7.

Go Vols!

I think you forget how bad Kentucky was prior to Stoops. I’d like them to return to that. Stoops is a good coach IMO

Meh. The day I give a single solitary crap about Matt “Tennessee football will never be elite again, and is basically Nebraska” Jones will be a cold, cold one in the depths of hell.

He’s one of a precious handful of sports media personalities who can somehow make the Paul Finebaum show dumber simply by appearing.

I want Stoops to stay just to piss him off about UK football some more.

His SEC record is 39-60 (.394)

Not exactly “good”.
Not bad for Kentucky.. They always have a below average SEC roster. They beat a top 10 team this year and nobody was shocked. They put UGA on the ropes and nobody was shocked. I’m not saying he deserves to be in the hall of fame but I think they’re about as good as Kentucky can be without a Heisman caliber QB

If he was so burned out last year, why did he accept the A&M job? If he was looking to retire, taking the A&M job would be an odd choice.

I wouldn't be surprised if he tried his hand at something else. I think he has already maxed out the best he could do when UK managed a 10 win season. During those years, he was able to take advantage of down seasons for both Tennessee and Florida in the SEC East and were generally better than Mizzou, South Carolina, and Vandy. Now that the divisions are defunct, I think the path to 10 wins for a team like Kentucky is extremely difficult.

Stoops might be better suited in the ACC where he could take similar level of talent as Kentucky and compete for conference Championships. Maybe a team like UNC or NC State or Virginia Tech.
