First off, I must apologize for not getting the South Carolina thingy out in a timely manner

The family was busy doing "family" stuff Sunday and when I finally sat down to get it written I found my Muse had scarpered off to the Great Dismal Swamp and was shacked up with a skunk ape.

I soldiered on though and the thing fought me for every word, sentence and paragraph BUT by Friday I had it almost done and just needed to polish the history bit and give you all something to read next week.

Then my computer went weird and turned the whole damned thing into an ASCii file and I just don't have the will to rewrite it.

CharterVol once said that one of the hardest jobs is to do something creative on a schedule.

Fear not, though, I am already starting on the A&M one!

One of the few things I remember about the game report is a quote form Coach Oail "Bum" Phillips: "Respect all. Fear none."

The history bit is the story of Edward H. "Butch" O'Hare. I had written it separately, and I'll polish it up some and post it below.

OMG with all the time and effort you have expended for our edification you are certainly deserving of our support. Everyone has a bad week occasionally and now that you have been exposed as merely mortal, when can we expect the results for maxims of the Bye-week? Looking forward to your next endeavor.

Forgive me, but you are....?

People of this land bow down!

The mightiest one of all doth come!

He walks with greatness in his stride, this master of the sacred thread, this son of lightning, sought by kings!

By OneManGang the earthmen know him, know his name from Dyersburg to Dunlap!

Now he comes this son of thunder!

Bow yourself before his presence!

Shield your eyes lest his brilliance blind you!

Quickly, now, he comes this way, the mightiest of the internet warriors, the OneManGang comes thy way!

(apologies to Ross Thomas)

Feet of clay -
I know of the biblical reference in Daniel, however, my father and paternal grandfather used this phrase for those times when the human frailty or failing is exposed in those we hold in highest esteem, as they are revealed to be like us, only human indeed, a moment to embrace them and claim them as our own.

Feet of clay? Bah!

You should know I do nothing half-way!
