is to get him used to playing in close games for later in the season. I know Goins will be back and that will likely be the two deep, but Josh Bone hasn't played bad.

Bone plays some solid D, and doesn't make mistakes. He's a better asset and a more solid backup than Goins.

I think the loose ball scramble, the 3 point shot, and that defensive play should answer the question by so many as to why he is in the game.

Playing well, don't want a cold BMaze to come into the game, and clearly he's making plays.

Bone played extremely well today. I questioned the move at the beginning of overtime, but that was a good call on Bruce's part.

I didn't understand why Maze sat on the bench so much in the second half. I know Bone played well, but it was odd.

Bone is the reason we won today. He hit some big shots, hustled for loose balls and played some great defense. He and Maze are a pretty good PG combo.

Rucker said that it was because Maze was getting abused by Warren. Bone locked him down.

Bone played well, but let's be honest, Wayne Chism absolutely carried the team today.

Makes sense. Bone has been a huge surprise. Even though Goins is coming back, no way he should come in before Bone.

Well for whatever reason, we can assume it was the right COACHINH ADJUSTMENT since we won the game. Credit to BP's ability to COACH and make PERSONELL decisions. Good tough win, should help down the road. GO VOLS

I swear, I better not see Goins play any over Bone. Bone can shut people down.

Chism played his best overall game. That's the kinda game I want to see Chism play. Great defense, excellent rebounding, scored INSIDE and out.

Amen. Lets trust CBP. It looks like he has a handle on it. If we would of lost they would have crucified him on here. Ha ha GBO:clapping:

Bruce did say earlier this week that BMaze needs to improve his D. A reporter told him that Maze wanted to play more minutes and Bruce basically said that when Bobby stops taking defensive possessions off and stops being a matador on D, he can play more.

Wayne had a stellar game and led the comeback but without Bone's 3s late in the game and his defense against Warren, we would not have won.

I'm not saying he didn't have a big part in the win, but Chism went for 26 and 12. Without him, we get straight drilled.

On the radio, Chism just said Maze was "exhausted" and that was the main reason that Bone was in. Let's see what Pearl has to say in a bit...

bone was in the game cuz bmaze Def effort was terrible. he jogged around 2 screens and warren busted a wide open 3. he was benched right after that and never returned. good job bruce... bone played solid... we don't need slackers even if they are players of the week.

I don't think Maze is a slacker. Trust me, he has got to improve his defense, but look, Maze still has to play 30 minutes for our offense to continue to play well. Hey, maybe this gets Bobby's attention that he has to contribute on both sides of the court. But we have to have B-Maze's penetration to have a successful offense. You saw what happened without Maze offensively, our offense looked terrible. So yes, good job Bruce to keep Bone on Warren and make sure Maze learns a lesson. But they can't do that every game.
