Having Maymon out really sets this team back. He is a true player/leader who elevates everybody else to bring a better game than today

I like Maymon as much as the next guy but he's not some magical remedy for what happened today. Remember Maymon was on the floor when they lost to Oakland, CoC, AP and UGA last year.

Actually this is false. Less doubles on Stokes. And less offensive rebounds by Okie St and more rebounds for us. And another scoring option. So yeah he would have helped a whole whole lot.

Not my point. The OP said "He is a true player/leader who elevates everybody else to bring a better game than today" and I gave 4 examples of games last year where he did no such thing. Having Maymon today might have given CCM another player and more options in the post, but Maymon's presence doesn't guarantee effort from his teammates.

Were these losses before stokes was here or after?? I can't remember.

Not bad for a disgruntled transfer who couldn't beat out Stephen "The Rat" Pearl.

But yes, he would most certainly help. Problem is, an infection in the knee joint is bad, and his conditioning will be crap. He is better off to redshirt.

Before, but Stokes arrival isn't really relevant to my point.

Relevant? That is a hard one to argue. I can see that your point was that Maymon is not some superstar who would have changed the outcome of today's game.

However, it is relevant because other than UGA, Maymon and Stokes together help this team, and they have proven to beat good teams.

I didn't see any of today's game and looks like we shot very poorly. But, having both of those guys healthy and playing together really helps this team. You can't afford to truly double both of them. I really hope Maymon gets back on the floor. If he has to really think about a RS, then we need Stokes back in 2013. Add Hubbs, and this team is pretty damn good.

The same way a lot of people blame Dooley for the lack of development and not coaching up his players...so it goes with Cuonzo as well!

From a talent standpoint, yes Maymon helps. But to think that this team won't throw out a clunker just because Maymon is on the floor is naive. He and Stokes were both on the floor for last years Alabama game I believe.

What about all the games he did do those things?

I think the difference is defense!!!!! Even though we got spanked, we still only gave up only 62 points!!!!!! There is a good core being built with coach Zo, he has full control!!!! That just was not the case with coach Dooley. The core that he was trying to build just kept falling apart!!!!

It was a clunker, but I think Maymon would have snatched about 8 rebounds with at least 10 points. That would have taken away from OU's ability to control the game on offense & defense. It would have opened up the middle for Stokes & clean open looks for the guards!!!!! Remember Maymon is one of the best ball handelers on the team & loves to drive and dish it back out to the guards(mainly what we missed today), so he would have been extremely effective with the ball in his hands!!!! He would have made a BIG difference!!!!!

Again, not the point. Your talking about his physical performance and the x's and o's of the game. I'm talking about the fact that the team got beat today because they didn't bring focus and energy. Maymon being on the floor isn't some kind of guarentee against lack luster performances.

What about them? Yes he provides leadership. But go back and read the original post. The implication is that Maymon wouldn't have let the team have such a lackluster performance had he suited up. However, there is evidence that such lackluster performances have indeed occurred with Maymon on the floor and I have given 5 specific examples.

Not only does Maymon being out hurt us, but we don't have a back up pg. when Golden goes out, our offense just looks horrible. Doesn't look like Moore is going to be someone we can count on with all of his turnover issues. Golden is by far our best ball handler. Anybody else bringing the ball down, I get nervous.
