As I recall, Maymon started the year shooting very well from the foul line. For instance, he was 16-17 in the first Memphis game.

After his 2-5 effort last night, he's now shooting only 62% for the season.

What has happened?

Yep. He's got to get it going again. He will get to the line a lot if they start getting the ball in the paint.

Stokes is really bad also. He needs to correct his stance at the line.

I touched on this last night. He gets Fouled a lot but is now leaving too many points on the floor. With our offensive woes we need every point that we can possibly get, 50% from the line doesn't cut it. He seems to rush his shot sometimes and less arch, when he takes his time he is ok.

Agree. That was the most improved thing I had seen since the offseason is Maymons freethrows. At the first of the year, he was automatic and then........

maymon alone is losing about 4-5 points a night at the free throw line, thats pathetic. these are the easiest points you can possibly get, im not asking for 95% but i think 80% isnt asking too much.

Wasn't he shooting something like 90% several games into the season? They showed a comparison with last season during the Memphis game and it was a remarkable improvement.

I get how you can go into shooting slumps from the field, when you are being defended. But falling off that much from the foul line? It's strange.

He makes one of those free throws before OT and we win. Of course, nobody on either team was making shots of any sort last night.

After careful research, it appears he is missing more than he was initially. haha

Stopped bending his knees and finishing on his toes.

Again, very basic correction. You can't shoot the ball stifflegged.

i noticed this early in the year, he was doing a great job taking his time bending his knees and getting good arch on his shot. this allows the nice shooters role if it does hit the room for it to fall in most of the time. he just needs to settle back in and slow down and bend those knees. i think we will see it improve

This is exactly the problem. It's an easy fix. Just takes focus. When he bends his knees he makes, When he doesn't he misses. Simple.

7 for 14 at the line (as a team) against GA last night. THat and 20 turnovers will lose most SEC games, regardless of who you play. FOr some reason our FT shooting has been consistently inconsistent

I've now said it 2,735.5 times. Last night uga scores 27 points off our turnovers and fouls. That is almost half their points, we played great half court defense then give them the game pretty much. If we make our ft's don't commit dumb fouls and don't turn it over we can play with anyone, if we do those things we can lose to anyone. Simple as that.

I am not going to argue on the point that he needs to improve his FT shooting. He does. But why dont you look up how many post players in college basketball (or NBA for that matter) shoot 80%. That is asking too much for reality. If he can get to 70% he is probably about where he realistically should be.

Oh your completely right I'm justcsstingvtheyre hurting themselves.if shaq or Dwight Howard could hit 70% their ppg go up about 10. Anthony Davis is a good post ft shooter.

When he got 38 against Memphis the first time i thought we had awaken a sleeping giant but the guy tends to disappear on us.His foul shooting is probably mental

32 fwiw before someone else nails ya. I blame the guards for as much of his disappearance as him. CCM has stated many times they need to get it into the posts. His fg% is pretty good he doesn't get enough shots, this needs to change soon him and stokes getting IMO 15 shots a game a piece.
