With the commitment from in-state defensive end Greg Emerson, Tennessee now has one of the best 1-2 in-state commitment punches in the country as Emerson joins five-star offensive tackle Cade Mays on the Vols' commitment list. In fact, you could argue that, because of the positions they play and their impressive measurables, Mays-Emerson is the top 1-2 punch in the country.

I can't wait to watch Cade play in orange! I know his dad will have Cade ready to go and since Kevin was an all sec lineman for the VOLS he knows what it takes!
Plus Cade has been a hunter/outdoorsman all his life. How can you go wrong with a good country boy playing in orange? :D

Prayers for Greg Emerson. Reading the Jackson Sun this morning, Emerson has recently suffered a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula. Article doesn't say how that happened or how long he'll be out for the year.

Just doing a Google search on fractured fibulas, recovery time could be anywhere from 4-10 weeks, so he might not miss much of his senior season if he stays off of it. Here's hoping he resists the temptation to rush back and lets it heal completely.

During his interviews after his committment, it appeared that he was standing and walking without any assistance. maybe his injury is not very serious.

In Emerson's situation, would UT steer/refer him to a particular surgeon? I suppose UT giving him a surgery on the house would be an impermissible benefit? Or is Emerson 100% on his own regarding the surgery. I know ncaa would allow bama and ol miss to pay for the surgery and a Dodge Charger but wasn't sure what rules applied to us?

Insurance (Nike's?) should cover. If it's a highly regarded specialist with ties to Tennessee, there's no violation for him performing.

Wouldn't "The Opening" have some kind of set-up with insurance?

My point. At any of these camps/all-star events, I've never heard of a family having to suffer from the financial burden due to an injury incurred therein.
